  • Data Wiping: You should factory reset your device before sending, but any data remaining is wiped upon receipt. Our partner, Likewize, is responsible for this. Please see their terms on the check-out page.
  • Refurbish or recycle: We aim to ensure as many devices as possible go on to have a second or third life. Most will be resold, some will be repaired to get them ready for their next owner. Only if a device can’t be reused will it be sent for end-of-life recycling at an approved partner location where all precious metals and components will be extracted and reused.

  • Enter your device details: Pop the make, model, or IMEI number of your device into the search box on our homepage.
  • Choose your device: Pick your device from the results, and we’ll give you an initial sale value.
  • Describe its condition: If your device has a few bumps and bruises, let us know so we can give you the most accurate quote.
  • Send it to us: Use our supplied packaging or print your own label to send your device our way.
  • Important: Make sure you remove your phone from Apple iCloud, Android or Samsung account before posting it to us. It helps us process your sale quicker.

  • Devices need to be unlocked from any manufacturer accounts before they’re sent to us. Check out our how-to guides or the instructions in the email we send you for all the details.
  • To remove iCloud from your Apple device:
    • From the home screen, tap Settings
    • Tap iCloud
    • Tap Sign Out and tap Sign out on the pop-up
    • If prompted, enter the Apple ID and password then tap turn off
  • To remove your Samsung/Android account:
    • Go to settings and tap accounts and backup
    • Tap Manage accounts and select your Samsung/Android account
    • Tap Remove account and tap Remove account on the pop-up
    • Tap Sign out and re-enter your Samsung/Android account password

  • IMEI Number: Just dial *#06# on your phone, and it’ll pop up. The IMEI is a 15-digit number unique to your device.
  • If your device has two IMEIs, use IMEI 1.

  • You can find this in your device settings under ‘About Device’. If you still have the box it came in, that usually has it too.
  • If you aren’t sure just enter your IMEI in the search box and we’ll try to match your make and model this way.

Don’t worry. When we receive your phone, we’ll assess it. If there’s a difference in the model or condition that changes the value, we’ll send you an email with a new offer. If you’re not happy, you can reject it, and we’ll return your device – for free.

Once you get a quote from giffgaff Recycle, it’s valid for 14 days. Plenty of time to decide and send your device in. If your device gets to us after those 14 days, we’ll give you an updated value based on current prices.

  • Back up and erase all data.
  • Remove security locks: make sure iCloud, Google or other manufacturer locks are removed.
  • Remove PIN codes.

  • No Accessories Needed: There’s no need to send in chargers or cables for phones, tablets or watches. Some cables and accessories, such as controllers, chargers, docking stations and AV cables are still required for laptops and consoles where applicable.
